Current Positions

Traffic Control Specialist (Flagger)

Ardisan is seeking traffic control persons to join our crew.

Traffic control persons work with other crew members to direct traffic through construction zones safely and efficiently.

Under the supervision of the site foreman, traffic control persons are responsible for:

  • Setting up and taking down traffic control signs and devices;
  • Regulating the flow of traffic through construction zones using stop/slow signs;
  • Communicating and coordinating with other crew members;
  • Communicating with motorists and pedestrians;
  • Ensuring safety standards are met and notifying supervisors of any unsafe situations; and
  • Other construction related duties as required, including physical labour.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other crew members to coordinate the flow of traffic using hand signals and handheld radios;
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and positively with the general public;
  • Must be able to work extended hours, including some (optional) nights and weekends;
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from various job sites in and around Ottawa; and
  • Must own hard hat, steel toe boots, and hi-vis clothing.
  • Traffic control and/or construction experience would be considered an asset.
